Sorry for the silence. Just wana do a quick post about mouthwash which i think is an important message to convey. No. This blog will not in any way will turn into a gigi blog (or has it?) Jazakillah. Here's....

Ehemm..first and foremost i'd like (aii apesal neves cm public speaking pule ni)wish everyone a blessed and happy day.
Tujuan hamba mengepost buletin ini adalah untuk inshaAllah let everyone know about an important fact about mouthwash usage, which i'm sure not everyone is aware of including me before i had a lecture on this topic.
InshaAllah this is also to fulifill my social responsibility as a Muslim, and hiding this fact from other people would be a sin, nauzubillah. It's a FAQ that i get from most ppl, and since i have a tiny weeny bit of knowldge, then i guess, why not sharing..?
Every Muslim should know that most mouthwashes contain alcohol, especially Listerine which has got 22-26% alcohol. Compare that to red wine which has abt 15% alochol content. pretty significant isnt it?
Pardon my short of knowledge abt mouthwashes in malaysian market, but do check out the alcohol content if you're planinng to buy a bottle. As in OZ market, only Oral-B has 0 alcohol content. (no no, i didnt get any royalty from oralB for saying this)
Occay, the 1st argument is, you really shouldnt use mouthwash because it contains alcohol. reckon everyone's aware of the fact that not even a drop of alcohol is permissible for us Muslims. I dont have to go on and explain how the mouthwash linger in your mouth after you rinse with it, and whether u can help it or not, memang masuk juga la walau 1 atom, do i?

occay, if u want to argue that only intoxicating alcohol that's haram. Yes, alcohol in mouthwash IS intoxicating muh dear. The only reason why OZ's penjara has banned mouthwashes is because the banduans use mouthwashes to substitute arak.
There are other reasons, but i dont intend to write a super wordy bulletin. Honestly, Melb Uni Dental School has long trying to hammer this idea in2 their students' head that mouthwashes are just A WASTE OF MONEY. They dont do u any good, unless you have some sort of infection in your mouth, mouthwash does help.
Nope, they dont act as berus gigi substitute, nor do they cure caries (the hole in ur teeth).
The only reason why ppl sometimes need mouthwash is just when u need a quick fresh breath-that wouldnt really last long anyway.
Occay...i wont curi ur time any longer, my last word of advice would be, brush ur teeth the correct way, use floss (oh they dont in any way cause orthdontic-like teeth movement) and love ur teeth !! for any further oral advice, do seek it from qualified dentist occay!
